Frank E. Voigtlander's Obituary
Frank E. Voigtlander was born in Antigo, WI on November 8, 1932. His parents, Carl and Margaret Voigtlander (nee Jones) preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris L. Baughman Voigtlander. He is survived by: sisters, Audrey Janas, Elmhurst, IL and Shirley Schneider, Rockford, IL; and a brother, Carl (Louise) Voigtlander, Packwaukee, WI. Frank is also survived by 8 step-children, Jenny (Greg) Comegys, Caledonia, MI; Leslie (Nickii) Baughman, Hancock, WI; Lenore Barnett, Plainfield, WI; Kathy Baughman, Scottsdale, AZ; Leonard (Kathy) Baughman, Coloma, WI; Louis (Cindy) Baughman, Kaukana, WI; Alicia (Tom) Dolezel, Monroe, WI; and, Wilbur (Linda) Baughman, Plainfield, WI. Also included in Frank's family are 22 step-grandchildren and 31 step-great-grandchildren. He is survived by 4 nieces and 7 nephews. He joined the U.S. Navy where he completed his high school education, received technical training to be a pipe fitter and, then served on board ships in several areas of the world during the Korean War. After his Navy service, Frank bought a dairy farm near Bancroft, WI where he farmed for many years. After he retired from farming he went on to work for the Town of Almond and as a custodian at the Bancroft School. In 1981, he married Doris L. Baughman and was welcomed into her large family of 8 children. They had 19 years of happy marriage before Doris died in 2000. Frank was an avid fisherman, faithful Christian, remarkable hard worker, and a man with sparkling eyes and an delightful sense of humor. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009 from 1-3 P.M. at Grace Baptist Church at 1500 Hoover Avenue in Plover, WI. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 3 P.M. at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Kisner officiating, assisted by Rev. Gary Akright. Burial to follow at Lone Pine Cemetery in Almond, WI. Hardell-Holly Funeral Almond assisted the family with arrangements.
