FRANK J. KERNEN, JR.
APPLETON, WI
FORMERLY OF WAUPACA, WI Age 77 passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at his home in Appleton, WI. He was born April 12, 1928 in the Town of Stambaugh, Iron Co., MI; son of Frank Sr. and Freda (Roever) Kernen. On February 11, 1952, Frank married Kimi Gunji in Tokyo, Japan. Frank was best known as a Master Barber in Waupaca for over 30 years before retiring in 1993. During his military service, he had the distinction of serving as the personal barber for General MacArthur. He was an all-around sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and archery. During his life, Frank was actively involved with King Archers, Wisconsin Beagle Club Association, Wisconsin Bass Club; was a leader of the Twin Lakes Boy Scout Council; and a dog trainer with 4-H Club. After his retirement, Frank enjoyed a leisurely life of fishing and bird watching. He died peacefully surrounded by his family. Frank is survived by:

Sister: Delores Kernen of Antigo, WI
Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Elmer Kernen, and three sisters, Marie Millhouse, Lenora Creech, and Evelyn Kernen. A Memorial Visitation will be on Monday, March 27, 2006 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. Burial will be in the spring at the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in the Town of Farmington. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. HOLLY FUNERAL HOME
