Fred L. Pfeifer
Waupaca, WI Age 60 - died Wednesday Feb. 4, 2009 at UW Hospital in Madison, WI after a long illness. He was born in Clintonville, WI on March 29, 1948, the loving son of Charles and Gladys (Wainer) Pfeifer. He married Patricia Withrow on February 3, 1968 in Chicago, IL. He spent the last 15 years of his life building houses with the Amish. He loved Waupaca, and in particular the Chain-O-Lakes where he swam every year of his life since he was 6 months old. He had an avid love of nature and animals; his home was always blessed with rescue pets. He also loved his winter home on the Gulf of Mexico on South Padre Island where he spent his winters. Fred loved spending time with his family and friends, and telling bad jokes. He is survived by his wife; Patricia D. Pfeifer, Waupaca, sisters; Ann Pfeifer, Waupaca, and Jane Pfeifer, Oshkosh, nephew; Paul (Anita) Lehman, Waupaca and their children; Frederick, Anna, Johanna, and Helena, niece; Lindsey (Troy Mueller) Lehman, Oshkosh, and her children; Logan and Jordan, and niece; Alecia Lehman and friend Steve, Portage, dear friends; Terry (Barb) Teske, Waupaca, Cal (Linda) Lehman, New London, and Tom (Marge) Brown, New London. He was preceded in death by his parents; Charles and Gladys Pfeifer, New London, and his grandparents; Dr. and Mrs. Fred J. Pfeifer, New London. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, with the Reverend Carl Ferguson – Waupaca Christian Church, officiating. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the ToTo Foundation for homeless animals in Waupaca County. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
