Frederick E. Hawkins' Obituary
Frederick E. Hawkins, age 89, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, WI formally of Sturgeon Bay passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Veterans Home. Fred was born in Tellico Plains, Tennessee on September 8, 1921, the son of the late Fred and Pearl (Smith) Hawkins. He worked for many years in the oil fields. On May 3, 1946, Fred married Bernice A. Pluff in Sturgeon Bay. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. Fred is survived by his wife; Bernice A. Hawkins, Sturgeon Bay, WI; his son: Stephen (Shelly) Hawkins, Houston, TX; his daughter: Debra Clark, Abilene, Kansas; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Porter. Per Fred's wishes there will be no services and cremation has taken place. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.
