GARY PARSONS FREDRICKSON
WAUPACA, WISCONSIN Age 71 died July 17, 2005 at Manawa Community Nursing Center. Gary, the son of Oliver and Evelyn (Olson) Fredrickson, was born on November 1, 1933 at home in Waupaca, WI. He graduated with the Waupaca High School class of 1952.
On February 13, 1960 he was united in marriage to Nancy Hubbard.
Gary started his military career in 1953 by joining the United States Navy. After four years of duty he joined the Naval Reserves. In 1961, he joined the U.S. Air Force as an electronics technician working most of his career tracking satellites at Grenier A.F.B. New Hampshire and Vandenberg A.F.B. Santa Maria, CA. After his military retirement he worked at Appleton Medical Center for 12 years and at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI, for the remainder of his career, as a maintenance supervisor.
He was a member of V.F.W. Post #1037 and a past commander, the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 238, the Disabled American Veterans, the Chain O'Lakes Conservation Club, the King Civil War Round Table, the A.F. Sergeant Association, The Retired Enlisted Association, Coalition of Retired Military Veterans, and the National Rifle Association. Gary is survived by:

Sister: Tana Zawalich of Sun City, AZ
Sister-in-law: Wanda Webster of Neenah, WI
Also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Trudi Ann, brothers-in-law, Jerry Cvikel, Tony Zawalich, and George Webster, and his mother-in-law, Gloria Carr. A Graveside Military Service will be on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at 2:30 PM at the Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI. Military Services will be conducted by the Waupaca VFW Post # 1037. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 20, from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, with a VFW Service at 2:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. A special thank-you to the wonderful staff at the Manawa Community Nursing Center, Theda Care Hospice, Riverside Medical Center, and Appleton Medical Center for all of their kindness and care.
