George Nelsen's Obituary
George R. Nelsen, age 70, of Poy Sippi, WI, passed away Monday, December 29th, 2008 in Berlin with his three sons at his side. He was born in Town of Leon, Waushara County, Wisconsin on June 3, 1938, the son of Rhinard and Anna (McCloy) Nelsen. George served in the U.S. Navy. He served eleven years as chief of the Poy Sippi Fire Department from 1970 to 1981. George also owned and operated several businesses in Poy Sippi. He is survived by Wife: Carol Nelsen, Poy Sippi, WI; Sons: Ricky (Tina) Nelsen, Pine River, WI; Lee (Michelle) Nelsen, Redgranite, WI; Lloyd Nelsen, Poy Sippi, WI; Grandchildren: Austin (Sarah) Nelsen; Kayla, Brittany, Nick, Patrick, Krista, and Jennifer Nelsen; Great Grandchildren: Zander and Elizabeth. Brother: James Nelsen, Oshkosh, WI. He is further survived by Step Children: Roger and Jody, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John. A Funeral Service will be held at 3 PM on Monday, January 5, 2009 at the First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi, with Reverend David Sielaff officiating. A private interment of cremains will be held at a later date. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 12 Noon until the time of the service.
