I have fond memories of Jerry in my early section 5 days. He was a respected leader among pastors. He was in Eau Claire and was in Viroqua. His secretary's mother lived in Viroqua and attended our church. Years later he painted a church sign for us here in Beaver Dam. We wiil miss his generosity, wisdom and love for the Lord. Apart from my parents, no one has had a greater impact on my spiritual life than Pastor Christensen. He was the real deal when it came to living authentically, a man of boundless faith and wisdom, full of the Holy Spirit, and manifesting the joy of walking with Jesus day by day.
So often as I'm tested in the fires of life a nugget of wisdom he shared will glisten in my memory and I'll pick it up, ponder it again and draw new strength from some timeless truth he preached in his unique way. What an incredible communicator he was, his words capable of moving both the audience and himself to tears as the presence of God entered the room.
Yes, he was the real deal and I'm so proud to have known him--and so grateful that the life of this Mighty Man of Valor touched mine.
To the Christensen family. I am sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I spent many days with Randy at your house in Eau Claire and remember him as a very nice man. May God's love comfort you at this time. Dale Wirth
