Gerald "Jerry" Brian Smith's Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” Brian Smith, 75 of Waupaca, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020. After a long battle with Parkinson and other medical issues. Jerry was born in Halifax, England to Gerald E. and May (Bennet) Smith. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Grand Forks N.D. at Grand Forks Air Force Base and in Guam at Anderson Air Force Base. He married Fern Benson in 1964 and they had a daughter and a son. His wife and children survive him as do 7 grandchildren and 9 ¾ great grandchildren. Proceeding Jerry in death are his parents, Gerald E. and May (Bennet) “Smith” Stocker and Hartman Stocker.
A Memorial service will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca at Noon on February 1, 2020, visitation will start at 11:30 a.m. until noon, following the service there will be Military Honors and a luncheon. Per Jerry’s wishes, he did not want flowers, a memorial has been established. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. We thank everyone for their help and service in the time of our loss. It is greatly appreciated.
