Gerald R. Hanson's Obituary
Gerald R. Hanson, age 81, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Veterans Nursing Home. Gerald was born in Pine River, WI on March 29, 1928, the son of the late Ray and Bernice (VanAirsdale) Hanson. Gerald served in the U.S. Air Force as a Master/SGT in the Korean & Viet Nam Wars. He retired after 21 years of service to his country. Gerald is survived by his children: Bonnie (Reverend Tom) Cassidy, Spring Valley, CA; Gayle (Jerry) Anderson, Waupaca, WI; Reverend Jerry (Susan) Hanson, Mims, FL; Grace (Kevin) Buck, Waupaca, WI; Kimberlea (Curt) Heck, Rockford, IL and Kevin Hanson, Beloit, WI; 7 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren also survive along with his Ex-Wife: Lucille Hanson, Spring Valley, CA. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister in law, Verland & Evelyn Hanson an ex-wife, Virginia and a niece, Barbara Fisher. Memorial Services for Gerald will be on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church in Waupaca with Reverend Larry Gross & Reverend Jerry Hanson, officiating. Military graveside services will be in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in the spring. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.
