Gilbert J. Seibert's Obituary
Gilbert J. (Gib) Seibert, age 69, of Waupaca, WI, passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at his residence with his family by his side. Gib was born in Winona, MN on June 16, 1940, the son of the late Clarence & Maxine (Whitman) Seibert. Gib graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1959. He worked for the Nobils Corp. and was a long time Graebel Shoe Store owner in Fond du Lac. Gib especially loved the relationships that were formed with his customers and the people of Fond du Lac. He loved cooking, gardening and the outdoors. Gib lost his battle with cancer and was able to do it his way at home with the help of the Ministry Home Care Program. Gib is survived by his children: Chris (Leon) Laatsch, Hartford, WI; Tim Seibert, Waupaca, WI; Sara (Dave) Balzer, Random Lake, WI and Nicole Seibert, Mayville, WI; 4 Grandchildren: Amanda & Katelyn Laatsch; Morgan & Evan Balzer and 2 step daughters, Laura & Cheryl Habush. His sisters: Sheryl (Jack) Fogtman, Janesville, WI and Polly Seibert, Minneapolis, MN. Gib is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue (nee McAllister) a sister, Mary Davis, a brother Bill Seibert and his second wife, Susan (nee Levener). Funeral Service will be on Friday, Sept. 25 at 1 PM at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca with Father Brian Belongia, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery, Waupaca. Visitation will be on Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home. Gib's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Ministry Home Care for all of their help.
