Gladys Pils Nelson, age 91 of Waupaca, formerly of Plover died on February 17, 2013 at her home and the home of her daughter, Kathy Forseth and her husband Fred. Gladys was born on January 20, 1922, the daughter of the late Joseph & Amelia Pils. In 1944, Gladys married Robert Stewart Nelson. They met during World War II where Gladys was serving in the Women's Army Corps and Robert in the branch of military intelligence. When the war ended, they resided in Chicago, IL. There they started a family and were great parents to their three daughters. Gladys is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Fred) Forseth, three grandchildren, Alex (Jody) McKelvey, Colleen (Nick) Wenos and Ben Courtney. She also leaves behind four great grandchildren, her brother Joseph Pils , eight nieces and nephews and numerous good friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and two daughters Laura Leigh Nelson and Judith Ann Courtney.
Gladys was a lover of art, music, nature and the human race. She also loved the White Sox, the Bulls and the Packers. Always open minded of new things and new experiences, she retained this till the end. She was...........

There will be a Celebration of Glady's Life on Saturday, February 23 at 4 PM at MEMORIES BANQUET FACILITY, 2811 Plover Springs Drive in Plover. Family & friends are invited to begin gathering on Saturday at 3:30 PM at MEMORIES BANQUET FACILITY in Plover. The family wishes to thank all those who visited, helped and cared for Gladys during her last illness. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Glady's name. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
