Gregor Netys' Obituary
Mr. Gregor Netys Sr., age 83, of Waupaca, WI, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at United Pioneer Home in Luck, WI. Mr. Netys was born in Ustinovka, Ukraine on April 6, 1922. He was the son of the late Mikola and Maria S. (Sirhijenko) Netys. On November 6, 1948, he married Juliana (Schmidt) Netys in Lochen, Austria. Gregor and Juliana immigrated to the United States of America in 1950 and purchased their farm on Haase Road in 1954. They became proud citizens of the United States in 1961 and raised their two children, Gregor Netys, Jr. (Susan Weiser) and Maria (William) Belke. Gregor and Juliana farmed until their retirement in 1976. At that point they built their home a mile from where they had farmed the land that they dearly loved. Gregor and Juliana celebrated 57 years of marriage. Gregor was the proud grandfather of five beloved grandchildren: Anna M. (Gary) Otto, Aleena L. (Lloyd) Volz, Michael (Hollee) Netys, Adam F. Netys and G.C. (Christy) Netys. In addition he was the loving Opa of Jordon Lucas, Juliana and Ethan Volz, Jared Netys and Hanah Netys. He is further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community in Waupaca at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, with the Father John Becker officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery, Waupaca, WI. Visitation will be held on Saturday 9-11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community. The people that have known Gregor knew him as a hard working person that cared for his family more than life itself. He will be missed by his family, but all know that he is with us and will be caring over us. In lieu of flowers donations are encouraged to the Alzheimer's Association. A.J.
