Gwendolyn Akstulewicz's Obituary
Gwendolyn M. Akstulewicz, age 83, of King, WI, passed away on Friday, May 5th, 2006 at Wisconsin Veterans Home - Olson Hall, King, WI. She was born in Neenah, WI. on November 25, 1922, a daughter of the late Clarence and Marie (Eggert) Andersen. Gwendolyn married Julian Akstulewicz on September 3, 1949 in Menasha, WI. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1991. She proud to be a veteran of W.W. II at which time she served as a surgical technician in the Women's Army Corp, stationed at McCord AFB, which she was just able to visit in November (59 years after being stationed there). After the military, she worked as a surgical technician at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah, WI., until she quit to raise her children. She loved to play bingo and travel. Gwendolyn had a special fondness of music, especially marching bands. She recently traveled to Texas, Las Vegas and Washington to visit her family. She is survived by 4 Children: Paul Akstulewicz, Appleton, WI; Ellen (Jack) Rodgers, San Antonio, TX; Steven Akstulewicz, Las Vegas, NV; Janet (Steve) Abrams, Marshall, WI; 5 Grandchildren: Rebecca (John) Crump, Waipahu, HI; Gerald (Catherine) Reimann Jr., Port Orchard, WA; Michael Reimann, Beaver Dam, WI; Jeffrey Rodgers, San Antonio, TX; Andrew Reimann, Marshall, WI; 2 Step-Granddaughters: Trisha & Amanda Abrams, Marshall, WI; 3 Great Grandchildren: Samantha Reimann, Port Orchard, WA; Justin Crump, Waipahu, HI; Alexandra Reimann, Port Orchard, WA; a Sister: Ruth (Fred) Wacholtz, Reedsburg, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Julian and a brother, Lawrence Zuelke. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 1:30 PM at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Olson Hall Chapel, King. Interment will be in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 12:30 PM until the time of the service at the Olson Hall Chapel. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
