Harland T. Hansen's Obituary
Harland T. Hansen, age 96, of Waupaca, WI, formerly of Pine River, WI passed away on Thursday, July 16th, 2015 at Bethany Home. He was born in Pine River on August 15, 1918, a son of the late Hans and Matilda "Tillie" (Neilsen) Hansen.
Harland married Marie Van Buren on March 28, 1940 in Waupun.
Harland was an 8th grade graduate of Pine River School. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Saxeville. Harland grew up on a farm and farmed throughout his life. He served in the CCC. Harland served in the U.S. Navy in W.W. II. He worked for many years as a machinist for Rockwell International in Oshkosh. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Harland enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, travel, woodworking, family and his dogs. He was an active church member at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield.
Survivors include his Daughters: Marilyn (Darrel) Apps, Wild Rose, WI; Julene (Donald) Berglund, Wild Rose, WI; Sons: Kenneth (Leanne) Hansen, Berlin, WI; Dennis (Deanna) Hansen, Shelbyville, KY; Paul (Karen) Hansen, Pine River, WI; 15 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren and his Brother: Harold (Harriet) Hansen, Pine River, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie who died on December 9, 2005 and also by his infant son, James.
Visitation will be held at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield on Monday, July 20, 2015 from 11 AM until 12:00 (Noon), with the Funeral Service to be held at 12:00 (Noon) on Monday at the church, with Reverend John Taggatz & Reverend Chris Navurskis, officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Saxeville Union Cemetery, Town of Saxeville, Waushara Co., WI.
