Harley G. Jennerjohn's Obituary
Harley G. Jennerjohn passed away peacefully on April 3, 2022 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King at the age of 91. Harley was born on September 19, 1930 in Appleton, WI; son of Ervin and Elsie (Wundrow) Jennerjohn. Harley spent the first half of his life in the Appleton area.
Harley joined the U.S. Army and served in the Korean war where he received the National Defense Service Medal as well as several other commendations. Before and after his time in the Army he worked for Valley Press for 25 years.
On July 1, 1961 he married Dorothy Gemmel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton. Harley and Dorothy moved to the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI in December of 1980. He was certainly well liked by all of the residents and staff at King and may have been one of the longest residing members there. Dorothy preceded Harley in death in 1996. Harley resided in Stordock Hall for many years and spent the last few years in Ainsworth Hall.
Harley is survived by several cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. The family would like to thank the staff of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King for their years of dedicated service to Harley.
A Funeral Service for Harley will be on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 11:30 AM at the Holly Funeral Home, 526 S. Main Street, Waupaca, WI 54981. Deacon Bob Precourt will officiate. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place following the service at the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
