Harold H. Becker's Obituary
HAROLD H. BECKER
KING, WISCONSIN
Age 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born April 22, 1918 in Milwaukee, WI; son of Anton and Lydia (Fessman) Becker. On June 27, 1942, Harold married Marie A. Grosek in Almond, WI and together they shared 60 years of marriage before her passing on September 2, 2002. He entered the U.S. Army on October 23, 1942 and was honorably discharged on February 16, 1946. Harold was a very endearing and thankful man to many people. He was a skilled woodworker and had built many things including dollhouses, picnic tables, nativity scenes, etc. Harold will be deeply missed by all of his loving family and friends.
Harold is survived by a sister: Jean (Stuart) Knapp of Wyomissing, PA; loving niece: Faye (Steve) Grosek-Woods of Neenah, WI; four nephews: Lyle (Linda) Stein of Etobicoke, Ontario, Jim (Sue) Stein of Palatine, IL, Don (Beth) Grosek of Neenah, WI, and Dick (Terry) Grosek of Neenah, WI; two special great-nieces: Angela Woods of Appleton, WI and Alissa Woods of Bourbonnais, IL; and an adopted grandson: Jacob Bartel and his parents, Darrell and Margo of Waupaca, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Lydia Becker; his wife, Marie Becker; and three brothers-in-law, Bud Stein, Henry (Jean) Grosek, and George Grosek.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 3:00 – 4:00 PM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM at the church, with full military honors to be performed following the memorial service. Father Amalraj Roche will preside. Burial will be at the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI at a later date. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
A special thank-you to all of the caregivers, especially Tabitha, Denise, Bonny, & Roz, at Stordock Hall 5th floor at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. The special care Uncle Harold received will never be forgotten.
