Harold L. Rasmussen's Obituary
Harold L. Rasmussen, age 93, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Bethany Home. Harold was born in Scandinavia, WI on January 31, 1923, the son of the late Nels and Ingebjor (Helgeson) Rasmussen. On April 15, 1944, Harold married Violet Smith in Scandinavia. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2013. Harold farmed for many years in the Town of St. Lawrence. He is a member of Scandinavia Lutheran Church, was on the church board and taught Sunday School for many years. Also with his wife, Violet was a 4H Leader. Harold is survived by his children: Sharon (Sam) Thiel, Tigerton, WI; Janice (David) Miller, Manawa,WI; Rev. Barbara (Robert Scheuermann) Rasmussen, Milwaukee, WI; Larry (Susan) Rasmussen, Scandinavia, WI; Dan (Joann) Rasmussen, Ogdensburg, WI and Mark (Carmen) Rasmussen, Deerfield, WI; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 3 great great granchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Violet, a granddaughter, Anita Thiel, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, 5 half-brothers and 3 half-sisters. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, December 31 at 11 AM at Scandinavia Lutheran Church with Reverend David Eisele, officiating. Burial will follow in the Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church. Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
