Harold Winnen's Obituary
Harold M. Winnen, age 88, Waupaca, WI., passed away on Tuesday, September 13th, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Wayzata, MN., on October 9, 1916, a son of the late Paul and Lula (Welch) Winnen. Harold married Bess Podlucky on December 23, 1942 in Minneapolis. She preceded him in death on August 30, 1999. He was a member of Waupaca Christian Church. Harold served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of W.W. II. He had been a member of the Waupaca CCC, Riverside Medical Center Auxiliary, and caretaker for Camp Tamarack. Harold had been very active in the Waupaca Library. Survivors include - a Daughter: Barbara Siemiller, Menasha, WI.; 2 Sons: Peter (Margaret Ann) Winnen, Drewsville, NH.; Laurence Winnen, Waupaca, WI.; 4 Grandchildren: Amy Winnen; Michael Winnen; Kristy (Adam) Moore; Katie Winnen; a Great Grandson: Noah Moore; 2 Brothers: David (Gerry) Winnen, St. James, MN; Victor Winnen, Racine, WI; and a Sister: Violet Garland, Gilbert, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife - Bess. Funeral Services will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 15th, with Reverend Carl Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:30 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park in Racine on Friday at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Waupaca Library or Bacone College.
