HARRIET J. CHRIST
WAUPACA, WI (FORMERLY OF SAXEVILLE, WI AND DOWNERS GROVE, IL) Age 81– died on Sunday, September 4, 2005 at the Cherry Meadows Hospice Center in Appleton, WI. She was born on September 23, 1923 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (Kowalczyk) Petroff. She married George Christ on December 7, 1946 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1992. Harriet is survived by two sons: Wayne Christ of Waupaca, WI, and George T. Christ of Appleton, WI, a daughter: Suanne (Dan) Helton of Saxeville, WI, a grandson: Alexander Helton, and a brother: Robert Petroff of St. Petersburg, FL. She is further survived by other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: George, her parents, and two brothers: Theodore and Richard Petroff. Harriet had attended the Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. She enjoyed her summers at their cottage on Long Lake in Saxeville, WI since the 1950’s. She and George made it their permanent residence after their retirement. She had a passion for flowers and plants and this was reflected in her lake home. Her fondest memories were of times spent with her family on Long Lake in Saxeville. A memorial service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on Sunday, September 11, 2005 at 1:00 PM, with the Reverend Dr. Charles Tews, officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Saxeville, WI. Friends may call at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Sunday from Noon until the time of the service.
