Age 77 – died on August 25, 2010 at her residence. She was born on November 9, 1932 in the Township of Amherst, Portage County, WI, the daughter of Walter and Pauline (Bonoski) Pavelski. She married John “Jack” Wied on December 16, 1948 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lanark.
Harriet is survived by her husband, John, her daughter, Bonnie (Terry) Rogers of Janesville, two grandsons; Bert (April) Rogers of Milwaukee and their children, Duncan and Aili, and Casey (Sara) Rogers of Cudahy and their children, Lucy and Reed. She is also survived by her brother, Jerome (Doris) Pavelski of Corbin, KY, and many nieces and nephews. Harriet was preceded in death by two infant sons, her parents, a sister, Christine Inda, and a brother, Walter Pavelski, Jr.
Harriet was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Buena Vista. She was a farm wife through and through. She was as comfortable on a tractor as she was in the kitchen, and she did a fine job at both. Her last few years were difficult as she suffered from dementia. But it is so comforting to her family that on the day she passed from this life she was serene and smiling.
A funeral service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 10:30 AM, with Father Paul Vanden Hogen, officiating. Interment will be in the Lind Center Cemetery, Township of Lind, Waupaca County, WI. A visitation will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on Friday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, and again on Saturday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
