Harry Gillingham's Obituary
Harry P. Gillingham, age 96, of King, WI., formerly of Madison, WI., passed away Monday, November 27th, 2006 at Wisconsin Veterans Home-MacArthur Hall, King. Harry was born in Necedah, WI., on October 1, 1910, a son of the late Victor and Edna (Palmer) Gillingham. He married Violet (Larson) Peterson on August 6, 1949. She preceded him in death in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Harry enjoyed metal detecting and collecting coins. He also loved dancing, riding motorcycles and repairing violins and other stringed instruments. Harry was a huge fan of Goose Island Rambler and had made them an electric toilet plunger with pickup. He also had been a member of the Madison VFW. Harry is survived by 3 Children: Karen Helgesen, Madison, WI; Jerry (Heny) Peterson, Madison, WI; Wayne (Sue) Peterson, Orlando, FL; 5 Grandchildren: Randy Helgesen, Madison, WI; Heather (Duane) McGowan, Cottage Grove, WI; Darren Helgesen, Madison, WI; Robert (Donna) Peterson, Indianapolis, IN; Barby (Boo) Peterson, Madison, WI; Great Grandchildren: Brad Smithson, Matt, Kelsey, Sara and Katy Peterson. Funeral Services will be held at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Main Chapel, King, at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 4th, 2006. Interment will be held at Bay View Cemetery in Necedah, WI. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 (noon) until the time of service at the Wisconsin Veterans Home-Main Chapel.
