Heraldine (Deanie) Sommer's Obituary
Heraldine Annette Sommer, (Deanie), age 72, of Wild Rose, WI, passed away in her home, on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 9, 2010 surrounded by her daughters after a courageous battle with cancer. Heraldine was born in Wautoma, WI on September 11, 1937, the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Pflugradt) Draves. She was raised on the family farm by Peggy and Donald Draves. Deanie married Richard (Dick) Sommer, grade-school sweetheart, on June 2, 1956 in Wild Rose and he preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1996. She enjoyed her family and friends, worked in various capacities for the Wild Rose School District and served as the Wild Rose Village Clerk. Heraldine is survived by her four daughters: Debra (Mark) O'Brien, Cudahy; Darcy (Tom) Kobinsky, Cross Plains; Dixie (Dan) Wachsmuth, Waupaca, and Dana (Michael) Lesniak, Wild Rose; her 10 grandchildren: Shawn, Jake (Krystal), Luke, Tyler, Amber, Kevin, Michael, Jeremy, Nathan & Olivia; her 2 great grandchildren: Krystia & Kara; and her brother: Gerald (Jean) Draves, Milwaukee. Deanie is also survived by many half brothers and sisters. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening, May 12, from 4 to 7 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, May 13 at 11 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wild Rose with Reverend Dale W. Bahls, officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Village of Wild Rose. A luncheon will follow the service. Thanks to the Hospice team, the Rosemore Staff, Wild Rose Hospital staff and special friend Randy. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Deanie's memory.
