Howard S. Kopan's Obituary
Howard S. Kopan Sr., age 87 passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 24, 2012. Howard was raised in the rolling hills of Wisconsin, was a member of the graduation class of 1944 in Lodi, WI and flew small airplanes for fun and practicality. He was a US Army veteran of WW II. Howard Kopan served as an Honor Guard and had resided at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. The family appreciates the care he received at the Veterans Home and Weyauwega Health Care Center. He is survived by four children, Howard Stephen Kopan (Nan) of Sugarland, TX, Kathy (David) Jamison of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and Greg (Diane) Kopan of Madison, Wisconsin.
He is further survived by his grandchildren Christopher, Daniel, Tammy, Michael and Trinity and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Laura Wood of Weeki Wachee, FL and a half-brother, Reuben Clark of Madison, Wisconsin. Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Kopan. Visitation will be from 10-11am Friday, November 30 at St. Mary Magdelene Catholic Church in Waupaca, WI with Funeral Mass following at 11 AM. Presiding will be Father Paul Vanden Hogan. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
