Hubert Kenowski's Obituary
Hubert Kenowski, age 85, of Weyauwega, WI, was set free March 14th, 2009 at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born in the Town of Stockton, Portage County, Wisconsin on October 30, 1923, the son of Peter and Martha (Rzentkowski) Kenowski. Hubert lived and worked on his parent's farm in Amherst, WI until he was drafted in 1943. He fought in World War II in Italy. After serving his country honorably, he returned home in 1945. Hubert married Donna Hamelin on September 30, 1950 in Milwaukee. His various adventures included working on the Alaskan Highway, panning for gold, working as a lumberjack, and helping construct Stordock and Marden Halls at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. He bought a farm in 1962 where he was a welcoming host for his brothers and nephews for the hunting season. Hubert loved archery, country music, and played violin and harmonica. He is survived by Wife: Donna Kenowski, Weyauwega, WI; Children: John (Peggy) Kenowski, Waupaca, WI; Cynthia (Lawrence) Stinnett, Dallas, Texas; Paul (Kristine) Kenowski, Oshkosh, WI; Kathleen (Walter) Kenitz, Waupaca, WI; Christine Andersen, King, WI; 9 Grandchildren; and Close Friend: Kenneth Hadley, Waupaca, WI. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends A special thank you to sister-in-law, Ann Kenowski and his other son Kenny Hadley for their love and support. Also, a very special thank you to nurse Jan and all the staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Martha Kenowski; seven brothers, Walter, Edwin, Clarence (Gwen), Clements, Myron, Lambert, and Henry Kenowski; and two sisters, Susie Kenowski and Lorraine Glisczinski. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Victory Church in Waupaca, with Reverend Don Nickols officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and on Thursday at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family.
