Irving A. Trantow
Waupaca, WI (Formerly of Merrill, WI) Age 86 – died on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah, WI. He was born in Wausau, WI on March 7, 1923, the son of Wilford and Adeline (Bushendorf) Trantow. He married Margaret Heuser on June 16, 1957 in Wausau, WI. Irving is survived by his wife; Margaret, a sister; Mildred Schneiderwent of Waupaca, WI, a brother; Franklin ( Magdalen) Trantow of Manawa, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Robert and Wilford Trantow, and two sisters; Lillian Trantow and Grace Kryshak. Irving had been an Insurance salesman for 24 years, retiring in 1979. He had been active with the Jaycees and the Lion’s Club in Merrill, WI. He had been a member of the Board of Ministries of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Wausau. Following his retirement Irving and Margaret moved to Minoqua and became members of the United Methodist Church of The Pines. They later moved to Waupaca and became members of the First United Methodist Church in Waupaca. He had served in the U.S. Army during WW II from February of 1943 until he was honorably discharged on October 30, 1945. Irving also enjoyed boating and fishing. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Waupaca, WI on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 10:30 AM, with Reverend Michael J.N. Weigand, officiating. Interment will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King, WI. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 – 10:30 AM. Memorials can be directed to the American Cancer Society in the name of Irving A. Trantow. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
