Jack Schindler's Obituary
JACK J. SCHINDLER
WILD ROSE, WISCONSIN Age 88, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Rosemore Village in Wild Rose, WI. He was born October 16, 1924 in Appleton, WI; son of Lloyd and Adah (Chandler) Schindler. After high school, Jack enlisted in the U.S. Navy on June 25, 1943. He served during WWII aboard the USS Tennessee as a Seaman 1st class and was honorably discharged on March 7, 1946. Jack married Florence H. Cole on April 25, 1947 in Oshkosh, WI and they shared 62 years of marriage before her passing on April 24, 2009. They lived in Appleton while raising their two daughters. Jack and his family enjoyed vacationing to Northern Wisconsin and St. Petersburg, Florida. In 1967 they purchased their lake home on Big Hill’s Lake in Wild Rose. There they would spend their summers and weekends boating and enjoying the lake. Jack worked in Appleton and Oshkosh for many years as an architectural estimator, and later as a salesman for Kolbe and Kolbe Millwork in Wausau until his retirement in the late 1980’s. In later years, while living at Rosemore Village, he was known as their “Walmart Greeter”, always a gentleman by greeting folks while smoking his corncob pipe. He will be deeply missed by all of his loving family and friends. Jack is survived by:

Also survived by other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Adah Schindler; his wife, Florence Schindler; a step-grandson, Tyler Bradley; and a sister, Helen Derr. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 11:00 – 1:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose, WI. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home and will be conducted by Paul Fisher. Burial will be on Tuesday at Pine River Cemetery in the Town of Leon. A memorial has been established in the name of Jack J. Schindler. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements. HOLLY FUNERAL HOME
