JAMES K. DAKE
KING, WISCONSIN Age 90, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born October 26, 1918 in New London, WI; son of Adolph and Anna (Klug) Dake. James served in the U.S. Navy as a Warrant Machinist from December 9, 1937 – September 25, 1945. He was a survivor of Pearl Harbor where he was aboard the USS Solace, a hospital ship, on December 7, 1941. On June 6, 1953, James married Celestia Timm in Appleton, WI. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2003. James was a retired dairy farmer in Greenleaf, Brown Co., WI. James is survived by:

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Anna Dake; wife, Celestia Dake; two younger brothers; brother, Robert Dake; and three sisters, Dorothy Clement, Cecily Capen, and Lucille Pellinger. A Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 1:30 PM at the Main Chapel at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. Pastor Tom Getlinger will officiate. A visitation will be held from 11:30 – 1:30 PM at the Main Chapel on Tuesday. Military Honors will be performed following the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the spring at Rural Cemetery in the Town of Dayton. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. HOLLY FUNERAL HOME
