James DaWalt, Sr.'s Obituary
JAMES HAROLD DAWALT, SR.
WAUPACA, WISCONSIN Left us on December 6, 2009 at the age of 87, to join his wife, Irene, of 51 years and all of his family and friends. He was born in DeForest, WI; son of the late Vern and Viola Mae (Olson) DaWalt. On March 21, 1947, James married Irene Guyant in Almond, WI. She preceded him in death on November 19, 1998. James proudly served his country during WWII and the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He served with the 801st Operations Squadron (S.A.C.) and the 344th Bombardment Squadron; flight engineer with B29’s and KC97’s. The medals that James achieved during his service with the military were Air Force Longevity Service Award with 3 Bar Oak Leaf Clusters, the National Defense Oak Leaf Clusters, the Good Conduct with 4 Bar Loops, and Air Medal with 4 Clusters. During his military service, he was stationed in Spokane, WA; Riverside, CA; and Columbus, OH. He was a simulator flight instructor. After his retirement from the military, James moved back to Wisconsin, and was employed at Wendt & Peterson Ford Garage as a mechanic for 20 years. James was a dedicated and loving father to:

15 Great-Grandchildren A Funeral Service will be on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. Pastor Jeff Fletcher will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home. Military Honors will be performed following the service on Friday evening. Burial will be at the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. He was my North, my South, my East and West,
