I hadn't seen the obit and all the nice comments till now. I'm crying. He's my big brother, was 6 years older than me. He never bullied me and was just sweet to me. He took me and Speedy, our basset on his morning paper routes. I was just occasional, but I think he always took Speedy.
Jim was my hero in many ways. I would sit on the other side of the living room while he listened to music. I thought he was the coolest...and he was. He and Ron Konkol would go on road trips. Brother Matt and I would tag along sometimes too. My favorite picture is of Jim, Matt and I with a nice green background of vegetation. Ron took the picture. We all looked cool. I'm gonna break down when I see that picture again.
Jim worked so hard running. He'd go to State Fair and run to train. Great work ethic.
My wife, Janet and I were in Mexico, getting ready to watch a Packer game, when Chris, his wife called. "Jim died last night." I was sick and cried in bed for a long time. I didn't see the Pack that day. We called each other at 1/2 time of Packer games for many years. I miss that a lot.
I feel badly, but I feel worse for Chris. Those two had a real love affair. She's a peach of a gal.
See ya later big brother.
