J.J. - It was an honor and privilege to read your final words to family and friends on Saturday. Out of all the people I've met in life, you were the only one who came close to loving unconditionally. No matter what the problems going on around you, you were always positive and forgiving. I could never forget you (even if I tried) because you've heard every song I have in my CD collection and you've heard every piece of music I've written. Besides, forgetting you is NOT an option in my book. I will see you again one day and we can jamb together once again. I love you and you WILL be missed. As Desmond used to say- "See you in another life, brother."

Dear Jankowski family,

Please receive my sincere condolences for your loss.

The first time I met JJ (and the rest of the family) was in 1969 at the Jankowski residence in Milwaukee. Frank and JJ were tossing a football back and forth on the sidewalk in front of the house.

Some years later, I got to know JJ in Amherst Junction when we could stay up all night playing the guitar. JJ was elated when he memorized how to play "From the Beginning" by Emerson, Lake and Palmer. "You see it's all clear, you were meant to be here...from the beginning".
In my minds eye, I can still see JJ speeding down the Amherst area countryside roads on his bicycle wearing Frank's brown leather bomber jacket. A free and happy spirit.

Rest in Peace JJ.
