James "Jim" L. Prasch's Obituary
James “Jim” Prasch passed away peacefully in his home in Plainfield at the age of 77 following a hard-fought battle with cancer and chronic pain. Jim was born in ¬¬¬Chicago, Illinois, the eldest of 6 children. He knew at a young age city life was not for him, and moved to Wild Rose as a young man, where he met his wife of 48 years Diane. They had two children and raising and spending time with his kids was one of the greatest joys of his life. In recent years he took every possible opportunity to have fun with his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow, always trying to teach them a thing or two. Jim had vibrant personality and befriended everyone he met. He would happily chat with anyone, making him well suited to his job in sales which he held for many years. Jim had a deep appreciation for the natural world and a love of learning. We will miss his generous and helpful spirit and witty sense of humor, which he kept with him through his final days. Jim is survived by his wife Diane Prasch; children Daniel (Leah) Prasch and Amy (Andy) Landreman; grandchildren Dylan and Asha Landreman; brother John (Debbie) Prasch; and sisters Alice (Greg) Davies, Maggie Prasch, and Ann (Bob) Leinweber; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and close family friends. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Alice Prasch, brother Thomas Prasch and nephew Matthew Prasch. Per Jim’s wishes, there will be no service. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In Jim’s honor, donations can be made to Feeding America at feedingamerica.org/ways-to-give. Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose, WI is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences available at www.hollyfuneralhome.com
