James Soren Johnson, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. He was born January 23, 1952 in Waupaca, WI; son of Richard E. and Maxine V. (Czeskleba) Johnson. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. Ji Read Obituary
I got to know Jim when doing electrical work at his Union St. home. It was such a pleasure talking with Jim. He always had something nice to say and then would be
off for his days activities. My time with him was brief but will not forget his kind words.

My brother was the smartest person I have ever known. He could pull up facts about history, literature, all sports, pop culture especially.movies, the Bible, and esoteric things that no one knew. He wa generous to everyone. He was a life long advocate for the disenfranchised, the disabled, people who had mental health and/or substance abuse issues, and the disadvantaged. He was a passionate dog lover. He was a steadfast 6nd and constant support for.our parents in their final years. Not only cid he rad stories to the primary grades but he tutored and mentored jr high kids through the school. He was instrumental to the Library board and volunteered there as he did with the Historical Society and Winchester Academy. He was active withan interfaith council and other community groups until his health forced him to retire. I am so proud of his hdart, spirit, spirit and accomplishments. I a.m in awe of the grace and strength with which he handled the endless assaults on his body. Enjoy being free in heaven

Jim was an incredible man! He was very intelligent, and caring! I remember when he use to go to all the football games at Hobbercorn field, when he would volunteer at the schools, and then was lucky enough to spend the past many years with him at Bethany. He will be missed by all of us. My deepest condolences to the family. He loved you all so much and very much enjoyed sharing stories past and present of you all! He was very proud of each and every one of you! God bless!

Jim was truly a wonderful, caring person to all. Our family was blessed to know both Rick and Jim and our town was a better place because of them. Probably 25 years ago Jim took the time to arrange a wonderful nighttime tour of Williamsburg for our family and took us out to a Colonial Inn for dinner. He loved his history and told us many stories about Williamsburg. Jim always asked about our kids and their careers as they grew. My dad also found great comfort from jim leading bible discussions at Bethany. God bless you Jim, you will be missed!
