James Schilleman's Obituary
James Jacob Schilleman, age 70, of King, WI, passed away Monday, January 1st, 2007 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home. He was born in New London, WI on February 7, 1936, the son of Harry and Edith (Hoha) Schilleman. James was a 1954 graduate of Washington High School, New London. He enlisted in the Army Reserves on February 7, 1953 and was honorably discharged as PFC on July 14, 1954. James enlisted in the U.S. Navy on July 20, 1954 and was honorably discharged as a Seaman on April 1, 1959. He served on the USS Uvalde in California, Alaska, and Japan. He was a truck driver for 4X in Neenah for 15 years and was a custodian at the Sugar Bush School. Jim enjoyed playing the alto saxaphone and drums. He married Marlene Miller on April 11, 1959. She preceded him in death.
Jim is survived by Children: Lisa (Bret) Fischer, Greenville; Scott (Patty) Werth, Appleton; Kerri (Garry) Schrambeck, Lake Villa, IL; Meghan (Paul) Smeenge, Elgin, IL; Lisa (James) Hazouri, Keystone Heights, FL; Grandchildren: Erin and Eric Fischer; Andrea and Jacob Schilleman; Melissa, Amber, and Katelyn Werth; Kaitlyn, Mitchell, Harrison and Casey Schrambeck; Tiffany, Christian and Donna-Faith Hazouri; Great Grandchildren: Gabriel Steve-Owen Bowen and Michael James Schilleman; Sister: Shirley (Paul) Vance, Hortonville; Nephews: Charlie Vance; Andy (Lori) Vance; Niece: Sara Vance. Jim is further survived by Aunts: Rosemary Braun, Markesan; Lucena Clavette, Antigo; Uncle: Jake Schilleman, Wabeno; and fourteen first cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Steven James.
A funeral service with military honors will be held 1:30 PM Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home - Main Chapel. Interment will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Town of Farmington, Wisconsin. A visitation will be held on Thursday at the Main Chapel from 12:30 PM until the time of the service. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family with arrangments. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home for their kindness, care and concern for Jim for the past two years.
