James E. Vincent
King, WI (Formerly of Green Bay, WI Age 79 – died on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born on September 7, 1930 in Green Bay, WI, the son of Merle and Beulah (Bristol) Vincent. James is survived by three sisters; Charlotte Vincent of Green Bay, Della (Robert) DeCleene of Eagle River, and Susan (Richard) Reuter of Green Bay, and two brothers; Clifford (Kay) Vincent of Gypsum, CO, and Gerald Vincent of Vine Grove, KY. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Eunice Christensen and Viola Terp, and brothers; Gilbert, Edwin, and Nyle Vincent. James had served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He served from May of 1951 until he was honorably discharged in May of 1954. After returning to Green Bay, James was employed as an iron worker for about 18 years. He had also worked in one of the Rail Road depots in Green Bay for about five years. He had operated a tavern in Green Bay for a number of years, and he enjoyed his hobby farm where he raised various kinds of birds. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He became a resident of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI in February of 2008. A memorial service followed by military honors will be held at the Main Chapel of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 1:30 PM, with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke, officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Oconto, WI. A visitation will be held at the Main Chapel at King on Tuesday from 12:30 – 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established and memorials can be mailed to: James Vincent Memorial, PO Box 12641 Green Bay WI 54307-2641, in his memory. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
