Jane E. Alm
Nelsonville, WI age 63 - passed away on Friday, December 25, 2009 at her residence after fighting a year long struggle with lung cancer. She was born on March 26, 1946 in Iola, WI, the daughter of Welton and Aileen (Johnson) Alm. She met Robert L. Ripley in Milwaukee and they have been soul mates for 40 years.
Jane is survived by her soul mate, Robert L. Ripley of Nelsonville, her sister; Pat (Ryan) Raddatz-Hagen of Nelsonville, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, many cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; Welton and Aileen Alm.
Jane was a graduate of Amherst High School. She had earned a degree in Food Service Management from UW-Stevens Point, and then a Master's degree in Business from Cardinal Strich College. She moved to Milwaukee and had worked as an accountant for several businesses. Her last job position was as the controller of Graphics Factory in Waukesha, WI. She moved back to Nelsonville in 2008. She was a member of the Nelsonville Lutheran Church. Jane had many interests including gardening, cooking and baking, sewing, and visiting with family and friends. She and Bob loved traveling, antiquing, and garage sales. A funeral service will be held at the Nelsonville Lutheran Church in Nelsonville, WI on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Noon, with Reverend Gretchen Anderson, officiating. Interment will be in the Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Nelsonville Lutheran Church on Wednesday morning from 10 AM until Noon. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Nelsonville Lutheran Church Improvement Fund in memory of Jane E. Alm. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
