Jane Davies' Obituary
Elizabeth Jane Davies, age 67, of Green Bay, WI passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital. Jane was born in Detroit, MI on February 6, 1941, the daughter of Carroll (Tom) and Kathryn (Rogers) Lewis. She moved to Waupaca in 1944 and attended Waupaca High School, where she graduated in 1959. She lived in Waupaca the majority of her life, always close to her family that she loved dearly. She worked at Riverside Hospital in Waupaca for several years as well as the Waupaca Foundry, from which she retired in 2001. She had a beautiful voice, could play the piano and was a gifted artist. She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching movies and loved her crossword puzzles. Never one to make a fuss or complain about the obstacles life placed in front of her, she lived her life with love and kindness. Jane was affectionately known as Nana to her grandchilden, whom she loved and adored. A position she held with great pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends and will live on in their hearts forever. Jane is survived by her mother, Kathryn Lewis of Waupaca; her children: Therese (Daniel) Flaherty of Appleton; Dan Davies of Appleton; Pete (Sarah Becker) Davies of Weyauwega; Kathy (Todd Lauritzen) Davies of Appleton and Matt (April) Davies of Green Bay; ex-husband: James (Sandi) Davies of Montello; her siblings: Carole Lewis of Waupaca; Tom (Mona) Lewis of Racine; Mary Kay (Dave) Pohl of Waupaca; Mimi (Pat) Meighan of Waupaca; Patsy Mittelstaedt of Weyauwega; Tim (Bev) Lewis of La Crosse and Mike (Solange) Lewis of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Shelby Flaherty, Steven Ripp-Davies, Alec Flaherty, Sydney Flaherty, Christopher Ripp-Davies, Jordan Davies, Brennen Davies and Ella Lauritzen-Davies and numerous nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by her father, Tom Lewis and a brother-in-law, Paul Mittelstaedt. A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, August 28 at 5:30 PM at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca with Rev. Nate Gauerke, officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday from 4 PM until the time of services at the funeral home. All I ask of you is forever to remember me as loving you.
