Jane Hughes' Obituary
On March 24th, 2008, JANE KEVILLE HUGHES, 84, died peacefully at home surrounded by love. Adored wife of Norman L. Hughes (deceased), beloved daughter of Anna Quinn Keville (deceased), she is survived by her daughter, Annie Hughes of Waupaca, WI. Jane and Norman, married 53 years, moved from New Jersey to Waupaca with Annie in February, 2004. After spending their entire lives no more than 5 miles from where they were each raised, Norman told Jane - think of this as the last great adventure of our lives. Norman passed too soon, even at 90 years of age, eight months later. From his deathbed he professed his passion for his bride and said -don't cry, honey - think of all the beautiful years we have had together and smile. Jane did just as he asked. As a matter of fact, she was known for that smile. In the 4 years since moving to Waupaca, her generous loving nature, sense of humor and that delightfully toothy smile won her many friends. Jane was also very witty and loved to tell stories of her life that generally had people laughing heartily. She loved her family, she loved her friends and she loved her dogs. She will be sorely missed. On Friday, April 11th, there will be a Memorial Mass at 11 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community (N2845 Shadow Road), followed by a memorial celebration at the Holly Funeral Home (526 S. Main St.) from 12:00 (Noon) until 4 PM. All are encouraged to share their memories of Jane and Norman at this reception. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Hearts United For Animals (www.hua.org), Box 286 Auburn, NE 68305. Make sure to tell them Jane sent you.
