Janet Murphy's Obituary
Janet A. Murphy, age 74, of Waupaca, Wisconsin, passed away at home on Sunday, June 24, 2007 while in the company of family members. Janet was born in the Town of Waupaca, WI on March 9, 1933, the daughter of the late Gaylord and Ruby (Rice) Johnson. She served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On November 28, 1953, Janet married Edward T. Murphy in Bainbridge, Maryland. He preceded her in death February 4, 1970. Survivors include her sons: Timothy Murphy, Phoenix, AZ; Edward Ted (Karen) Murphy, Waupaca, WI; Kevin (Kelly) Murphy, Green Bay, WI; her daughters: Karin (Gerald) Williams, Weyauwega, WI; Colleen (Dan Peterson) Murphy, Waupaca, WI; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a brother: Jerry Johnson, Waupaca, WI; and sisters: Joyce Voight and Karen Miller, Oshkosh, WI. Janet was preceded in death by her husband - Edward, her son - Thomas Murphy and a brother - Roland Smith Johnson. The Memorial Service will be held at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI at 7 PM on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 with Pastor Jeff Fletcher officiating. Burial of cremains will take place in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, WI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 - 7 PM at the funeral home.
