Jeanette "Jan" Wikel's Obituary
Jeanette (Jan) Wikel age 73 of Waupaca, Wisconsin passed away peacefully after battling lung cancer for the last two years on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Bethany Home in Waupaca surrounded by her family. Jan was born in New London, Wisconsin on August 20, 1942 daughter of the late Carl and Rose (Redman) Heinke. She was married to Gary Wikel on July 9, 1960 in Manawa, Wisconsin. She was employed for four years as an operator for Bell Telephone Company in both Waupaca and Olympia, Washington. In 1968 Jan and Gary purchased Central Lanes and she was the office manager for the next 34 years until her retirement. She loved to camp, cook, garden and dine out. Jan enjoyed being a part of the Trinity Lutheran Church Secret Sisters and Lynnwood Women's Club.
She is survived by her loving husband Gary Wikel of 55 years, daughter Becky (Manny) Chiang of Brookfield Wisconsin, and son Steve Wikel of Waupaca. She is also survived by six grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 13, 2016 at 11 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI. Reverend Bryan Robertson will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9 A.M. until the time of the service at 11 A.M. A burial will be held in the spring at Lakeside Memorial Park.
