Jeffery R. Volz's Obituary
Jeffery Raymond Volz age 66 of Scandinavia, WI passed away January 22, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, WI. Jeff was born on October 29, 1942, in Jackson, MN, and raised in Lakefield, MN, by his parents, Gilbert Volz and Blanche Blankenburg Volz. He married Marleen Marie Herre on November 2, 1963, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac, WI. Jeff served in the Army from 1960 through 1963. He was a retiree of Canadian National Railroad, having been employed as a machinist for 35 years by the Soo Line/Wisconsin Central/Canadian National in North Fond du Lac, WI. Jeffery was a member and served as an usher at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI. He was a charter member and former president of the North Fond du Lac Optimist Club. In the most recent years, he was a member of the Scandinavia Booster Club and enjoyed Thursday morning Kaffe Klatsch with friends and neighbors. Jeffery was an avid lover of the outdoors, spending his free time hunting, fishing, and gardening. Above all, Jeff enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jeffery is survived by his wife Marleen of Scandinavia,WI; a daughter: Annette (Peter) Lionberger and their daughters Rachael and Emma of Oshkosh, WI; a son Greg (Karen) Volz and their children Drake and Karly of Menomonee Falls, WI; a brother Gary (Renate) Volz of Lakefield, MN;a sister-in-law Judy Herre of Racine, WI; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jeffery is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Blanche (Blankenberg) Volz, and a brother in-law, Donald Herre. A Christian Funeral Service will be on Weds. January 28 at 11 AM at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Waupaca with Revs. Jeff Holtan & Aaron Winkelman officiating. Burial with Full Military Rites will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be on Weds. morning from 9 AM until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jeff's name.
