Jeffrey W. Nicewander's Obituary
Jeffrey W. Nicewander, age 61, of Waupaca, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Jeffrey was born March 27, 1965, in Clintonville, WI, the son of Sharon Zempel and the late William Nicewander. Jeffrey enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams; the Milwaukee Brewers, the Wisconsin Badgers, and Green Bay Packers. He always enjoyed a game of cribbage and chess. Back in the day he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and horseshoes. His favorite activity was watching and listening to birds. He could tell what any bird was just by listening to their chirping.
Jeffrey is survived by his son Eric (McKenzie) Nicewander of Harvard, IL; his daughter Sarah (Steven) Manteufel of Waupaca; his grandchildren Ellie Nicewander, Ayden and Taylor Manteufel; his mother Sharon Zempel; his siblings Joel (Kris) Nicewander, Jarrod (Tiffany) Nicewander, Jason (Tami) Nicewander, Jon Nicewander, Luann Morgan, and many nieces and nephews.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father William Nicewander; stepmother Sue Nicewander; Grandma Virtle and Grandpa Sanford Paulson; Grandma Lucia Nicewander, and stepfather Larry Zempel.
A memorial service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Thursday April 23, 2026 at 12pm with Pastor Larry Gross officiating. A memorial gathering will be on Thursday April 23, 2026 from 10am until the time of service at 12pm at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca.
