Jerome C. Iwanski
Amherst Jct., WI Age 79-died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at his residence. He was born on January 12, 1932 in the Township of Stockton, Portage County, WI, the son of Louis and Anna (Sopa) Iwanski. He married Margaret Konkol on June 2, 1956 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church-Fancher. Jerome is survived by his wife, Margaret, five children; Diane (Robert) Biadasz of Amherst, Christine Skerven of Waukesha, David (Liane) Iwanski of Sherwood, Marvin (Jane) Iwanski of Custer, and Mary (William) Andrae of Brookfield, grandchildren; Amy (Tim) Tryba, Lisa (Nathan) Grezenski, Megan Biadasz, Mike Biadasz, Nick Skerven, Colin Iwanski, Serena Iwanski, Alexis Iwanski, Katie Andrae and Billy Andrae, great grandchildren; Everett Tryba, Bennett Tryba, Jacob Grezenski and Tyler Grezenski, sisters; Esther Megal and Betty (Al) Trzinski, both of Plover, and brothers; Lawrence (Marge) Iwanski of Mequon, Leonard Iwanski of Stevens Point, Alois Iwanski of Milwaukee, Ernie (Marlene) Iwanski of New Berlin and Tony (Ann) Iwanski of Milwaukee. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, others relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and as sister, Theresa Iwanski. Jerome was a life long member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church-Fancher. He had been very active in many church activities including his affiliation with the Knights of Columbus. He served his country in the US Army as a Corporal during the Korean War. He had been a grounds Superintendent at UW-Stevens Point for nearly 20 years, but first and foremost his passion was farming. From raising livestock to cash cropping, he continued to grow crops after his retirement for family, friends and neighbors. Jerome had many interests including football, bowling, hunting, playing cards and going to auctions. He loved family get-togethers and he especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church-Fancher, with Father Robert Pedretti, Celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Military Rites will also be observed in the cemetery following the funeral mass. A visitation will be held at the Jungers-Holly Funeral home in Amherst, WI on Friday evening from 4:00-8:00 PM, and at the church on Saturday morning from 8:30-10:00 AM. A Rosary service will be held at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home on Friday evening at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church-Fancher, or the Lupus Foundation of America in the name of Jerome C. Iwanski. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
