Jerome S. Kopchinski's Obituary
Jerome S Kopchinski was born November 21, 1956 to his parents Max and Lorraine (Fossman) Kopchinski. He grew up in the town of Ellis on Music Lane with his 3 brothers, Jim (Bonney), Larry (Cathy) and Bruce (Sandi).
Jerome passed peacefully in his Town of Lanark home, where he resided for the last 44 years. He was reborn into the arms of the Lord on January 24th, 2022. Jerome had a strong faith in God and lived the latter part of his life building that relationship with HIM. His faith defined his life and his relationships with the people around him. It was evident in the love that people felt towards him.
Jerome had many joys in life. He loved sitting around the table playing board games with family, he loved music, telling stories to his Grandkids about when he was a young man getting into mischief. He loved teaching his grandkids funny songs and rhymes. He loved the outdoors and chose his professions as such. Whether it was working in a potato field in his teens and early twenties to working for a logging company in Wautoma. He loved logging and being in the forests. He eventually started his own small logging business. After his diabetes got the best of his vision, he had to lay down his chainsaw but his love for the outdoors still remained. He and his wife, Joyce took many camping trips to the Porcupine Mountains. This past year they were able to purchase a camper and spent the summer and fall taking trips with their beloved companion, Goldie.
As a young man he was married for a time to Lynda Sikorski and together they had 2 children, Jennifer and Adam. They blessed Jerome with 5 Grandchildren and then 4 more Great Grandchildren.
Jerome met the love of his life Joyce Gliot in the early 90’s. She brought her 4 children, Jackie, Johnny, Angela and Joe and they have blessed Jerome and Joyce with 6 more grandchildren.
His grandchildren were the light of his life and you would often see him wearing his blue shirt that read “Never Fear! Grandpa is here!”
Jerome is survived by his wife Joyce, his children Jennifer (Ron Schroeder) Kopchinski and Adam Kopchinski, his step-children Jackie Sbertoli, Johnny Sbertoli, Angela (Tom)
Getlinger, and Joe (Jess) Sbertoli. Grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kody (Toni), Aidyn,
Savannah, Jordan, Trystan, Brennan, Kylee, Reggie and Sully. Great Grandchildren: Avaya, Henry, Allison and Charlee. He is also survived by his brothers and their spouses, as well as his nieces and nephews and many friends and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his courageous grandson, Hunter.
