Jerome Loomis' Obituary
Jerome Richard Loomis, age 70, of Waupaca, passed away on Monday, April 22nd, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Milwaukee on July 2, 1942, a son of the late Floyd and Alice (Sterry) Loomis. He married Joan Glodowski on December 27, 1969 in Menasha. Jerry taught at Fox Valley Technical College for 18 years. Since his retirement in June of 2000, much of his time had been spent in his hobby of the construction of heirloom quality cedar strip canoes. Jerry spent some time as a volunteer at the Northwoods Wildlife Center in Minocqua. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the St. Germain/Sayner Fish and Wildlife Club. Jerry enjoyed woodworking, photography, reading, camping and boating. He also was a volunteer at the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, WI. Survivors include his Wife: Joan Loomis, Waupaca, WI; Children: Jeffrey (Mindy McKinnon) Loomis, Seattle, WA; Jennifer Loomis, Chicago, IL; Brothers: Michael (Mary Lynn) Loomis, Oconto, WI; Steve Loomis, Las Vegas, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Prayer Service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 11 AM on Friday, April 26th, 2013. Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Veronica Glodowski for all of her help in caring for Jerry at home and to Bethany Home, Theda Care at Home Hospice and Dr. Earl Anderson.
