Joan May Fox's Obituary
Joan Fox, age 94 of Waupaca, WI passed away on Friday, February 04, 2022 at The Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. Joan was born on October 4, 1927; daughter of the late Fred and Catherine (Derwin) Lauson of New Holstein, WI. On August 25, 1950, she married Ward Fox in New Holstein, WI; he preceded her in death on November 28, 2015.
Joan attended the University of Wisconsin Madison where she received a degree in elementary education in 1948. Joan taught kindergarten in Oshkosh, WI before getting married and moving to Waupaca. Joan received a second degree in music from the University of Oshkosh in the early 1970's.
Joan was a music teacher with the Waupaca District were she taught elementary music for 22 years.
Joan and Ward enjoyed many years wintering in Southern Florida. Joan enjoyed golf, bridge club, church activities including singing in the church choir, sewing, antiquing, needle work and gardening.
Joan is survived by her children, Cathy (Leon) Kaniszewski of Caro, MI; John (Radmila) Fox of Oak Creek, WI; Chris (Eric Kahler) VanDellen of Waupaca, WI; grandchildren, Leon (Fefe) Kaniszewski, Jesse (Brian) Armstrong, Daniel Fox, and Samuel Fox, and great-grandchildren, Travis, Tristan and Alana Kaniszewski, and Cole, Rilen and Saylir Armstrong as well as many step nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home, Ainsworth Hall for the loving care they provided for Joan over the last several years.
Memorial Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Waupaca. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to the Waupaca Learning Center - music department.
