Joanna N. Wisner's Obituary
Joanna N. (Townsend) Wisner was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in Waupaca, WI at the age of 84. Joanna was born to parents Ellsworth and Nina Townsend on April 14, 1933 in Duluth, MN, the eldest of four children. She is a graduate of Wautoma High school where she met and married her best friend and sweetheart Robert Wisner in 1950. She graduated from Fox Valley Technical College in 1970 with a degree in nursing. She enjoyed a 25 year career at various hospitals and nursing home locations throughout central Wisconsin. She was blessed with a large and loving family, welcoming eight children into their home. Her children remember her as person that was passionate about her faith in God, valued education and encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Joanna was an accomplished self-taught cake decorator, making all of her children's wedding cakes. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, knitting/crochet, camping, travelling puzzles and attending her children/grandchildren's sporting events. Throughout the years she was active in Sweet Adeline's, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, PTA, Commission on Aging and often volunteered at the county meal site. She was an avid Brewers, Packers and Badger fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Wisner, and granddaughters Michelle Steingraber and Kelly Forseth.
A celebration of her life will be held at Victory Church, Waupaca on Saturday, October 7th. Visitation at the church to begin at 10AM with the service to follow at 11AM. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
