John A. Sattler Jr.'s Obituary
John Albert Sattler, Jr., of Poy Sippi, Wisconsin, age 82, was called home by the Lord Jesus on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. John was born on the family farm in the Town of Poy Sippi, on August 8, 1925 to John A. Sr. and Laura (Buchholtz) Sattler. He attended Poy Sippi Grade School until 8th grade when he chose to make farming his passion. He was a member of Emmaus Evangelical Lutheran Church of Poy Sippi and was confirmed August 1938. John married Georgia M. Cotanch on August 6, 1955 at United Methodist Church. John had a great love for Holstein cattle and was very proud that his herd was 100% Registered. Many of the animals went on to gain national recognition and John won several awards for outstanding cattle. He passed his love of animals on to his son and grandsons. John loved spending time teaching others about cows and farming. He especially loved spending time with his grandsons, teaching them to lead calves for the county fair, then watching with pride as they led their calves in the show ring. John was a member of Poy Sippi Volunteer Fire Department, Family Dairies and an officer for the Waushara County Farm Bureau and the Waupaca-Waushara Holstein Association.
John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Georgia Sattler; his son and daughter-in-law, James and Lisa; and his grandsons, Jacob and Joseph. He is further survived by sisters: Stella Wendt, Weyauwega; Lyda (Charles) Lind, Pine River; Marjory (Frank) Muscavitch, Pine River; and brother-in-law: Gary (Beverly) Cotanch, Poy Sippi. Also several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws- Dale and Florence Cotanch, sister - Alice Pollack, an infant son Brian and an infant daughter Diane. A celebration of John's life will be held Friday, April 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Emmaus Lutheran Church, Poy Sippi, with Pastor William Meier officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Poy Sippi and again on Friday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in the Brushville Cemetery in the Town of Bloomfield, Waushara County, Wisconsin Holly Funeral Home
