John T. Clement Jr.'s Obituary
John Thomas Clement Jr. age 59, of Wild Rose, WI sadly left us on December 18, 2022. John was born on March 9, 1963, to John Clement Sr. and Beatrice Jane Clement (Strauss) in Mammoth, New Jersey.
John loved his family and was a deeply devoted dad to Crystal Woodka, a proud grandpa to Emmilyah Hernandez-Otero, and a loving father figure to many others who called him “dad”. John met Terry, whom he called, the love of his life, and later married her.
John was a generous man and tried to help everyone – even at personal cost. He was known by a number of names including, Johnny to his cousins, and Johnny Salami to the day care children of his adopted sister, Sharon’s day care which Crystal attended for many years while John was working as a cable guy. But recently he was known as the grumpy old man with a heart of gold... However, no matter what John was called, he was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
John lived an adventurous life and had many friends, in both New York and Wisconsin. He moved to Wisconsin permanently in 2005 and lived in Stevens Point, Junction City, and Waupaca. His last residence was at Rosemore Village in Wild Rose.
He had a wide range of hobbies including bee keeping, raising animals (rabbits, chickens, duck, and geese), watching soccer and the Packers, playing board games and bingo. He loved music, was in a rock band and at one point in his life, wanted to be a rock star. He also had an eclectic taste in movies including Science Fiction, Disney, and Hallmark. One of his most favorite pastimes, however, was fishing and was so proud when, at age 9, his daughter Crystal showed him up by catching a 27-inch northern with her snoopy fishing pole.
John also had many jobs including, among others, construction, laying cable, and working at a racetrack taking care of the horses.
John is survived by Terry (New York), his daughter, Crystal Woodka (Miquel Hernandez-Otero), Wisconsin Rapid, his granddaughter Emmilyah Henandez-Otero, also from Wisconsin Rapids, his cousin Robin (Richard) Madson, Waupaca, as well as many other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Beatrice, and his paternal grandparents, Martin and Beata Clement.
A memorial service for John will be held at Bethany Home, 1226 Berlin St. Waupaca on January 4th at 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to contribute to help defray funeral and cremation expenses. Checks can be made payable to Robin Madson (John’s rep payee) and sent to N4825 County Rd Q Waupaca, WI 54981. Be sure to include “for John Clement” in the memo.
