John E. Doubek's Obituary
John E. Doubek, age 77 of Camp Douglas, WI passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. John was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 20, 1947; son of the late Ralph and Betty (Polzin) Doubek. In 1960, he moved to Wild Rose. John graduated from Wild Rose High School and then attended UW-Whitewater. Thereafter he started working for Shelmet Precision for over 30 years becoming co-owner until his retirement. In addition to working at Shelmet Precision, he was active in serving his community as a police officer for the Wild Rose Police Department along with the Waushara County Special Deputies and the Wild Rose Fire Department, becoming Fire Chief and Investigator. John was a life long member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Church.
After John retired, he actively pursued his many hobbies, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
John is survived by his son, Kenneth (Jeanne) Doubek of Weyauwega, WI; daughter, Kimberly Royston of Wautoma, WI; grandchildren, Erica Doubek and Lorelei Mueller; best friend/former wife, Jean Doubek of Wautoma, WI; cousins, Eileen (Dayton) Burkholder of South Dakota; Diane (Kerry) Fritsch of Wyoming; and his loving dog of 15 years, Gracie. All who survive John will cherish the many wonderful memories that were shared with him. John was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until time of service at the Church. Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Wild Rose. Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements.
