John E. Lough Sr.'s Obituary
Age 84, of Camp Cleghorn, Waupaca, WI passed from his family's arms into God's hands on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at his home. John was born on July 22, 1920 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to his late parents Ernest John Lough and Emma Anna Lough. He had four younger brothers and sisters Anna Malsack (Roman), Dorothy Phillips (Bill), Robert Lough (Jean), and Richard Lough (Sherri). He married Betty Naomi Cress on October 28, 1944 in Kenosha, Wisconsin after meeting her only three months before. She was the love and center of his life. The couple moved to Madison, Wisconsin where he earned his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University. John dedicated his working years to American Motors Corporation (now Daimler Chrysler), serving them for 37 years as Manager and Supervisor of Plant Engineering in Milwaukee. John and Betty had three children, Kerri Jo Danninger, John Ernest Lough Jr., and William Newton Lough; four granddaughters, Kristin Temperly (Dave Kaiser), Shacey Temperly, Julie Danninger and Kelsey Danninger; and one great granddaughter, Mackinley Kaiser. Preceded in death by his Parents, and Two Sons: William Newton Lough and John E. Lough Jr. John and Betty spent summers on the Chain O Lakes in Waupaca and eventually retired among many friends, to his favorite place, Camp Cleghorn on Columbia Lake. There he spent many peaceful years floating on the pontoon with family and friends, reading three books at once, serving on the Waupaca Library Board and the Camp Cleghorn Board, and going on car rides at dusk searching for deer. He was an avid bow hunter and could be found in his tree stand on Peterson's farm on many fall days. He loved being outdoors, he loved every season, and he loved Waupaca, a beautiful place to be. John was met at Heaven's Gates by his parents and his two sons. Those he left here on God's soil will miss him and remember him with love and tenderness always. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Crystal River Rehab and Nursing Center who showed John such care and compassion. His family will always remember you. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 30, 2005, 10am to 11am at Parfreyville United Methodist Church in Waupaca. Funeral Service will be held Saturday April 30, 2005, 11am at the church with Rev. Dong Su Lee officiating, lunch to follow. Memorials to Crystal River Rehab and Nursing Center and the Waupaca Area Food Bank. Holly Funeral Home
